Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to enhance the quality of life for our residents at Boka Haven assisted living. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being for seniors. This role requires a compassionate individual who is skilled in working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities. Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents. Plan and coordinate events, outings, and recreational activities that encourage participation and socialization. Collaborate with staff to ensure activities align with residents' care plans and assist with daily living activities (ADLs) as needed. Provide support and encouragement to residents during activities, fostering a positive environment. Maintain schedule management for all planned events and activities, ensuring proper staffing and resources are available. Conduct assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make necessary adjustments based on resident feedback. Engage with families to communicate activity schedules and encourage their involvement in resident care. Stay informed about aging issues, memory care techniques, and best practices in recreational therapy. Requirements Previous experience, minimum 2-3 years in event planning or coordinating activities within an assisted living or nursing home environment is required. Knowledge of assisted living care, dementia care, memory care, and senior care practices is essential. Experience working with people with disabilities or in long-term care settings is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members. Background in caregiving or social work is a plus; familiarity with aging issues counseling is beneficial. Ability to manage schedules effectively while being flexible to accommodate changing needs of residents. A passion for enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful engagement and recreation.
