The Activities Coordinator will work to provide each enrolled student of secondary school age the opportunity to participate in activity programs that will foster physical skills, a sense of worth and competence, knowledge and understanding of the pleasures of sports, and the principles of fair play. Fort Zumwalt Activities Coordinators are expected to operate under three sets of rules and regulations with each supplementing the other. They are theM.S.H.S.A.A.
Handbook, Gateway Athletic Conference Guidelines, and the Policies of the Fort Zumwalt School District.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The Activities Coordinator shall have a valid Missouri teacher certification and at least five years of successful experience as a head coach or three years as an activities coordinator or athletic director. A master's degree with coursework in the organization and administration of athletic and physical education programs is preferred. Other qualifications may be considered as deemed acceptable by the Board of Education.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES M.S.H.S.A.A.

Handbook, Gateway Athletic Conference Guidelines, and Fort Zumwalt School District policies Complete and submit all requiredM.S.H.S.A.A.
eligibility forms for high school sports Maintain active files ofM.S.H.S.A.A.
Participation Certificate-Physician/Parent/Student forms for all athletic participants Enter school district activities in variousM.S.H.S.A.A.
events Represent the school district at state meetings related to school activities sponsored byM.S.H.S.A.A.
Inform coaches of annual State rules Interpretation Meetings for their respective sports Provide head coaches with copies of theM.S.H.S.A.A.
Handbook and current rule books for their respective sports Athletic Program Administration Schedule all high school district athletic contests according to M.S.H.S.A.A. and conference rules and regulations Coordinate the use and scheduling of athletic facilities Supervise the preparation and administration of the athletic program budget Maintain current inventories for all athletic activities Prepare annual equipment bids and assist in the selection of successful bidders Oversee the cleaning, storage, and care of all athletic equipment Contract and request payment for registered officials for home athletic contests Coordinate transportation for athletic events and team travel Make arrangements for team meals during travel Arrange for necessary game administration needs (police, medical personnel, etc.) Initiate work orders for outdoor athletic facilities requiring special preparation Jointly coordinate summer sports camp programs between high schools Develop and maintain the athletic philosophy of the school district Coaching and Team Support Prepare initial draft of Formal Coach Evaluation forms and participate in evaluation conferences Schedule and conduct pre-season and post-season Individual Coaches Conferences Arrange for student-athlete physical examinations at group rates prior to each school year Maintain team records and file participation reports toM.S.H.S.A.A.
Coordinate the replacement schedule of uniforms for athletes, cheerleaders, pom-poms, instrumental music, and vocal music Provide leadership and supervision of athletic activities Student Activities Management Conduct organizational meetings with all student organization sponsors prior to the school year Coordinate fundraising activities for all student organizations in cooperation with the building principal Schedule facility usage for club and organization activities Ensure all physical arrangements and custodial needs are addressed for activities Coordinate requests for transportation for club and organization trips Oversee cheerleader, mascot, and pompon tryouts in cooperation with the building principal Coordinate and prepare agendas for club and organization assemblies Communication and Public Relations Approve news releases for athletic programs and student organizations Work with Booster Club and other organizations for enhancement of the total athletic program Plan and supervise annual recognition programs for athletes, clubs, and organizations Inform and make recommendations concerning athletics to the principal Prepare End-of-Year Activity Coordinator Report for Assistant Superintendent of PersonnelADDITIONAL DUTIES
Perform other duties as dictated by law or assigned by the principal. Effectively communicates, verbally and in written form, with administrators, staff, and the community as needed.MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain confidentiality; communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and/or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Must be able to work well under pressure and negotiate conflict situations as they arise.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The individual who holds this position is regularly required to sit, walk, hear, present, and speak. The Activities Coordinator will occasionally lift, move, push, or pull up to 75 pounds. This employee should have excellent talking and speech abilities.
