Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Activities Director to join our team. You will be responsible for engaging activities for residents in our nursing home facility. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents and create a vibrant and fulfilling environment.
Duties:
  • Implement a variety of activities and programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents
  • Plan and organize events, outings, and special celebrations
  • Coordinate with staff, volunteers, and community resources to facilitate activities
  • Provide guidance and support to residents in participating in activities
  • Ensure activities are safe, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive
  • Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident progress
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate activities into the overall care plan
  • Stay updated on current trends and best practices in aging issues counseling, social work, caregiving, dementia care, and event planning
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a nursing home or assisted living facility
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with residents, families, staff, and community members
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
  • Understanding of ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) and their impact on resident well-being
