Job Description

Position Summary The Oaks of Alamance is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and organized Activities Coordinator to develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that enhances the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual well-being of residents. The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, documenting, and facilitating meaningful individual and group activities in accordance with North Carolina Adult Care Home regulations and resident-centered care principles. The program must encourage resident involvement, family participation, and community engagement while respecting each resident's personal preferences and abilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and implement a monthly activities program designed to promote resident engagement, independence, and quality of life. Assess resident interests, abilities, preferences, and cultural backgrounds to create meaningful programming. Plan and facilitate a variety of activities including: Social events Exercise and wellness programs Educational opportunities Arts and crafts Music and entertainment Religious and spiritual activities Community outings Intergenerational programs Maintain an updated monthly activities calendar and ensure it is posted in locations accessible to residents and visitors. Encourage participation while respecting each resident's right to decline activities. Conduct individual visits and one-on-one engagement for residents unable or unwilling to attend group activities. Coordinate volunteers, community organizations, entertainers, and outside resources. Participate in resident care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings as assigned. Maintain activity documentation, attendance records, assessments, and program evaluations. Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, family nights, and resident council activities. Ensure activities comply with all facility policies, resident rights requirements, and North Carolina Adult Care Home regulations. Maintain activity supplies, equipment, and departmental budget as assigned. Support a positive, respectful, and resident-centered environment at all times.
Pay:
Up to $18.00 per hour
