Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful recreational programs within our senior living community. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and oversee a diverse range of activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, physical wellness, and emotional well-being for residents. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster an uplifting environment where seniors feel valued, connected, and empowered to enjoy their daily lives. Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activity calendar tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and health needs, including memory care and dementia-specific programs Coordinate engaging events such as arts and crafts, music therapy, outings, fitness classes, and social gatherings that encourage participation and community building Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, family members, and external vendors to ensure activities align with residents' care plans and preferences Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during programming to promote independence and engagement Manage scheduling logistics for activities, transportation arrangements for outings, and resource procurement to support program execution Monitor resident participation levels and gather feedback to continuously improve program offerings Maintain detailed records of activities conducted, resident participation, and progress notes in compliance with facility policies Requirements Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or nursing home settings; experience in memory care or Alzheimer's/dementia care is highly desirable Strong understanding of senior care principles, including caregiving techniques for individuals with disabilities or dementia-related conditions Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, staff, and community partners Knowledge of recreational therapy methods and best practices for enhancing quality of life for older adults Ability to assist residents with ADLs when necessary while encouraging independence Skilled in schedule management to coordinate multiple programs seamlessly throughout the day Compassionate approach to counseling aging issues and providing social work support when needed Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team dedicated to holistic senior care Join us in creating vibrant experiences that enrich the lives of our residents!
