Job Description
Hayes Barton Place is currently seeking an experienced Life Enrichment Director to join our team! Hayes Barton Place Independent Living opened in January 2025 and is currently a fully occupied community with 250 residents. The Life Enrichment Director oversees our monthly calendar of programs, events, speakers, activities and has two full-time employees under their management. Qualified candidates will have recent experience in event planning, senior living, country club environment, along with a local knowledge of the Raleigh area. Purpose:
The Life Enrichment program for the community should consist of events, education, volunteering, and other programs that enhance and support all aspects of residents' lives leading them to a meaningful and purposeful life. Following the principles of Liberty Senior Living's INSPIRE program, ensures that program components include residents' spiritual, emotional, psychological, social, and mental well-being. The Life Enrichment Director will be responsible to design, plan, coordinate, and implement and attend all programming. Also responsible for hiring, scheduling, and supervision of life enrichment and transportation employees. Schedules and supervises contract vendors for Life Enrichment programming.Education and Experience:
Must be a high school graduate. Must be eligible for N.C. Certification as a recreation therapist or assistant therapist or must have experience and education with a focus on sociology, psychology, etc. and/or activity certification.Essential Job Functions and Requirements:
Employee typically works Monday through Friday. Weekend work, after hours work, or overnight may be necessary due to planned events and/or trips. Although activities are to be conducted on weekends the department may utilize outside groups/performers to conduct social events. Excellent networking, organizational, and social skills are critical. 1. Demonstrates leadership skills in the department with planning new and innovative ideas and programs. 2. Coordinates and supervises internal and contracted enrichment and transportation staff to ensure a wide variety of stimulating and meaningful events and activities are offered. 3. Responsible for hiring and supervision of the life enrichment assistant staff and transportation drivers when community does not have a Concierge Services Manager. 4. Prepares and delivers job performance evaluations for departmental employees in accordance with company polices and returns to the Executive Director. 5. Initiates disciplinary action of departmental staff following established policies and procedures. 6. Ensures there is proper documentation of all departmental staff performance issues. 7. Provides the orientation and training of employees per facility policy and monitors ongoing performance. 8. Assists in maintaining and updating job descriptions and employees records. 9. Recruit and oversee all contracted entertainers and activity facilitators. 10. Completes a Life Enrichment assessment with all new residents and utilizes the information to inform and engage each resident appropriately for social, educational, spiritual, psychological, and committee events. 11. Implements and maintains the event sign-ups and reservations for all life enrichment programs. 12. Educates residents on the policies and procedures for event reservations and sign ups. 13. Plans and implements a newsletter and calendar for all life enrichment programs and events. 14. Strives to have an life enrichment program designed to: A. Stimulate physical and mental abilities to the fullest extent. B. Encourage and develop a sense of usefulness and self- respect.
Other Essential Qualifications and Requisites:
1. Must be able to read, write and understand the English language. 2. Must be willing to work and cooperate well with other employees. 3. Must be able to problem solve. 4. Must be able to work well under pressure. 5. Must be willing to perform various jobs. 6. Must care for equipment used. 7. Must use supplies economically. Will have prior authorization from Executive Director before making purchases above monthly budgeted allowance. 8. Demonstrates neat appearance and good personal hygiene. 9. Wears appropriate attire in keeping with Community dress code. 10. Must read, know and follow personnel, department and Community policy. 11. Runs errands as necessary. 12. Must assist with transporting resident. (This could be driving van or driving to an event to accompany residents.) 13. Must have a valid Driver's License.Essential Physical Requirements:

Good vision with ability to read residents as needed. 2.Hearing:
Ability to hear resident responses, hear fire alarm and assist residents to safety, if necessary. 3.Lifting Capacity:
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. 4. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.Essential Safety Requirements:
Employee must remain with residents during off campus group activities to monitor their safety and to notify Executive Director immediately if any problems arisePay:
