Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and organized Activities Director to enhance the quality of life for our residents in a senior care environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the interests and needs of our residents in assisted living or nursing home settings. This role requires a strong background in caregiving, social work, or event planning, with a focus on creating meaningful experiences for individuals with varying levels of ability, including those with dementia. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that promotes social interaction, physical health, and mental stimulation for residents. Schedule and coordinate daily activities, ensuring they are accessible and enjoyable for all residents. Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to tailor activities to meet the specific needs of residents, particularly those requiring dementia care. Organize special events and outings that foster community engagement and enhance resident well-being. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve programming. Train and supervise volunteers or staff assisting with activities to ensure a supportive environment. Foster relationships with residents to understand their interests and preferences, enhancing their overall experience. Requirements
CRTS OR APC OR ADC CERTIFICATION
Proven experience in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes is preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules effectively. Background in social work, caregiving, or event planning is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff. Understanding of the unique needs of elderly individuals, especially those with long-term care requirements or dementia. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. A genuine passion for improving the lives of seniors through meaningful activities. $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
