Hazlet Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Weekends as Needed)
Salary:
$60,000 per year Lead Meaningful Experiences That Enrich Lives Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate, creative, and experienced Director of Recreation to lead our Activities Department. In this leadership role, you will design and oversee engaging recreational programs that promote the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of our residents while ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, implement, supervise, and evaluate a comprehensive recreation and activities program. Develop engaging activities that meet the individual interests, abilities, and needs of residents. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations governing recreation services. Review, update, and recommend improvements to department policies and procedures. Participate in resident assessments, care planning meetings, and discharge planning. Identify residents' medically related activity needs and develop appropriate programming. Supervise, mentor, and support recreation staff and volunteers. Coordinate community events, entertainment, holiday celebrations, and special programs. Collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, dietary, and other interdisciplinary departments. Maintain accurate documentation, activity calendars, attendance records, and regulatory reports. Manage department supplies, equipment, and budget responsibly. Attend required in-service education, staff meetings, and continuing education programs. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. ADC (Activity Director Certified) or CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) certification required. Minimum of two (2) years of recreation or social programming experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Basic computer proficiency. Passion for improving the quality of life for seniors and residents.
