This position helps create meaningful recreational and social experiences that promote resident engagement, dignity, and quality of life. Responsibilities Plan and implement activities based on residents' interests, abilities, and needs. Create and maintain monthly activity calendars and programs for assigned units. Encourage and assist residents with participation and transportation to activities. Plan and coordinate facility-wide events with team members. Complete attendance records, progress notes, care plans, MDS-related documentation, and other required paperwork. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and communicate changes in resident condition to nursing staff. Maintain a warm, positive, and safe environment. Assist with crafts, games, music, religious activities, special events, and other programs. Coordinate with other departments and supervise volunteers as needed. Assist with room set-up, reception desk duties, mail, and other duties as assigned. Education & Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Leisure Studies, or a related field preferred. Relevant education and/or experience may be considered. Experience working with older adults and/or individuals with Alzheimer's/Dementia preferred. Long-term care or geriatric experience preferred. Must be dependable, creative, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Must be available for occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to communicate effectively and perform essential job functions.
