Activities Coordinator - Full-Time Hultquist Place Assisted Living |
Jamestown, NY Pay Range:
$16.00-$18.55 per hour Hultquist Place, Lutheran s Assisted Living Program, is excited to expand our talented Activities Department as we continue welcoming new residents to our community. We are seeking a creative, energetic, and compassionate Full-Time Activities Coordinator to join our growing team and help residents remain active, connected, and engaged. Working in collaboration with the Activities Director and other members of the Activities Department, this position plans and facilitates a diverse range of cultural, spiritual, physical, social, civic, and intellectual activities based on residents interests and abilities. A key focus of this role is developing campus-wide programs that bring Hultquist Place residents together with members of our independent living communities, creating meaningful opportunities for connection, friendship, and shared experiences. The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, brings enthusiasm and creativity to group programming, and can encourage participation while respecting each resident s individual preferences and needs. Schedule 37.5 hours per week , including a mix of 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. shifts, as well as 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. every other Saturday . Additional schedule flexibility may occasionally be needed for special events and campus-wide activities. Essential Responsibilities Plan and facilitate engaging individual, small-group, and large-group activities that reflect residents interests, abilities, and personal goals. Collaborate with the Activities Director and other campus departments to develop shared programming for assisted living residents and independent living community members. Help create and distribute the monthly activity calendar. Coordinate campus-wide celebrations, outings, special events, entertainment, and intergenerational or community programs. Encourage resident participation and help reduce isolation by creating welcoming opportunities for social connection and involvement. Complete initial activity assessments and contribute to individualized activity plans. Maintain accurate attendance records and document residents participation and responses through quarterly progress notes or more frequently when needed. Communicate upcoming activities to residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community members in a timely manner. Assist with purchasing activity materials and equipment within the approved departmental budget. Coordinate the use of rooms, supplies, equipment, transportation, and other resources needed for successful programming. Assist with orienting and supporting volunteers assigned to activity programs. Transport residents to activities and outings after completing required company-van training, including operation of the wheelchair lift and securement system. Help maintain organized, clean, and welcoming activity spaces. Attend required in-services and pursue learning opportunities that strengthen knowledge of activity programming and resident engagement. Perform other duties as assigned to support residents and campus programming. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver s license and an acceptable driving record required. Willingness and ability to complete training to operate the company van. Experience working with older adults or planning recreational, social, educational, or community programs is preferred. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and community partners. Creativity, flexibility, initiative, and the ability to adapt activities to different interests and ability levels. Basic computer and documentation skills. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including assisting with activity setup, supplies, equipment, and resident outings.
