Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant team as an Activity Aide, where your enthusiasm and creativity will bring joy and engagement to our residents. In this rewarding role, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those in assisted living, nursing homes, or memory care settings. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. Assist residents with daily activities and encourage participation in social, recreational, and therapeutic events. Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans and support residents' cognitive and physical health. Manage activity schedules efficiently to maximize participation while respecting residents' routines and preferences. Facilitate group outings, special events, and community involvement opportunities that promote social interaction and community connection. Monitor residents' responses to activities, providing personalized support or modifications as needed. Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to support ongoing care planning. Skills Proven experience in event planning or recreational programming within assisted living or nursing home environments. Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and senior care best practices. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents of varying cognitive levels and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Experience assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as mobility, grooming, or other personal care tasks when necessary. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting to changing resident needs or unforeseen circumstances. Compassionate caregiving attitude combined with excellent organizational skills for planning engaging activities. Familiarity with aging issues counseling, social work principles, or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus. Pay:
$20.86 - $21.36 per hour
