Job Description
Requirements:
A high school diploma and certain certifications may be required. More education or experience with nursing homes, short-term rehabilitation, recreational activities, event planning, or related may be preferred. Physical fitness's, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands. Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills. Excellent resource management and record-keeping Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds. Flexibility to work when needed, especially some evenings, weekends and holidays. Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.Qualifications:
Outgoing, warm, and caring personality Ability to create a program to get Residents involved and excited Dependable, Reliable and able to supervise activities, special events for the Residents Creative talents in one or more areas such as art, music, readings, dance, etc Demonstrates good listening and communication skills and follow through.Job Type:
Per diemSchedule:
M-F 9:00AM-5:00PM or 12:00PM-8:00PM, Weekends as neededSalary:

What they do
A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.
