Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the functions of the academic programs of Criminal Justice, History and Political Science, and for administratively supporting the director of the School of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences. Chief tasks include general administrative functions, assisting students and faculty, maintaining budgets, and other specific tasks as required.
Scope:
As Coordinator of CHP:
Support the department of Criminal Justice, History & Political Science.
As Coordinator of AHS:
Help support the academic programs and support the administrative responsibilities of AHS. Principal Responsibilities Perform all financial activities associated with school, department, and program accounts, including budget tracking and auditing, credit card purchases and reconciliation, submission of purchase orders, etc. Complete and submit Semester Course Offerings schedules and changes to the Registrar Maintain student records and financial records Maintain and order office and teaching supplies for offices in multiple buildings. Complete adjunct contract requests in coordination with Director and Department Chair Maintain syllabi, faculty office hours, and department meeting minutes electronically Hire, schedule, and supervise student workers Assist with organization of department and program events Support various needs of students and faculty Develop program highlights "advertising" materials to promote majors & minors Attend Department and Program meetings and take accurate and thorough documentation of meetings. Manage TV monitors and directories for the specific programs in multiple buildings. Scheduling of rooms for both academic and non-academic purposes. Assist Admissions with prospective visits, help prepare for special admissions days, and special admissions events. Perform other job-related duties as required.
Required Skills:
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills Excellent attention to detail, while managing multiple projects & priorities Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures Knowledge of University administrative policies Proficiency in Microsoft Office products Ability to learn and work with various software programs Strong initiative skills Ability to manage and supervise student workers Ability to perform complex procedures using appropriate analytic skills Ability to effectively manage responsibilities across various office locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience At least two to five years of similar office experience
Preferred Qualifications:
