A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

PACE Job Summary:

The Activities Coordinator plans, organizes, and facilitates engaging individual and group activities for participants in the Adult Day Center. This position supports participants' social, cognitive, emotional, and physical well-being through activities aligned with their interests, abilities, and plans of care. The Activities Coordinator also assists with participant care and daily activities as needed.

Education, Licenses, Certifications and Experience:

Previous experience coordinating activities or working with older adults or individuals with functional limitations preferred. Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Long-Term Care Aide certification preferred. Current CPR certification required. Strong organizational, communication, and group-facilitation skills.
