Develop and distribute a monthly activities calendar and newsletter for residents and family members. Coordinate and schedule outside vendors and presenters. Participate in community event planning with the marketing staff. Make routine visits to residents. Ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and indicate the resident's response to the service Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc. Coordinate with other departments as necessary and in conjunction with resident care plans Plan, prepare and operate under the Activities budget. Set up, implement, and clean up resident group and individual activities Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies. Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional education preferred. Must have a minimum two years of experience in an activities, social or recreation program, or similar experience working in a healthcare setting Long Term Care. Requires an Activity Director Certification (ADC) from the National Certification Council for Activities Professionals (NCCAP) and maintains certification while employed. Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Knowledge and experience caring for and interacting with residents of this nature. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment. Prefer experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting.
