Job Description
Overview Join our vibrant team at Forest Lake Manor Assisted Living Community as a Part Time Assistant Activities Coordinator, where your enthusiasm and compassion will make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors. In this dynamic role, you will help plan, organize, and facilitate engaging activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for residents. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to foster a lively community atmosphere while supporting residents' individual needs and interests. Responsibilities Assist in developing and implementing engaging activity programs tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including memory care and dementia-friendly activities Coordinate resident events, outings, and recreational activities to promote social interaction and community involvement Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), ensuring comfort and participation during activities Maintain positive rapport with residents by building trust and understanding their preferences and needs Collaborate with team members to ensure activities align with care plans and facility policies Manage scheduling of activities efficiently to maximize resident participation and engagement Help with program development by tracking participation, gathering feedback, and suggesting improvements for ongoing activity offerings Skills Experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activity coordination within assisted living or nursing home settings Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia, geriatrics, and memory care best practices Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members Ability to assist residents with ADLs and aging issues counseling with patience and empathy Proficiency in Microsoft Office for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care environments is highly desirable Demonstrated skill in resident rapport building, team leadership, and program development Familiarity with home & community care services and working within senior living facilities This part-time role is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals eager to enrich the lives of seniors through meaningful engagement.
