Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Director to lead engaging recreational programs and social activities designed to enrich the lives of residents in a senior care environment. In this vital role, you will create vibrant, meaningful experiences that promote mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will foster a lively community atmosphere where residents feel valued, connected, and inspired to participate actively. Duties Develop and implement diverse activity programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and health needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities Coordinate special events, outings, and recreational therapies that promote socialization and community engagement Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and ensure activities align with individual care plans Manage scheduling for activities, ensuring timely setup, execution, and cleanup of events Foster an inclusive environment by working with individuals with disabilities or special needs to maximize participation Maintain detailed records of resident participation, preferences, and progress for ongoing program improvement Provide counseling on aging issues and support residents' emotional well-being through empathetic communication Skills Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or nursing home settings Strong background in senior care, memory care, Alzheimer's care, or dementia care environments Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques tailored for older adults with cognitive impairments Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Ability to assist residents with ADLs such as mobility, grooming, and other personal care tasks when needed Skilled in schedule management to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly throughout the day Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring long-term care support Compassionate approach to caregiving combined with counseling skills related to aging issues and social work principles Join us in creating a lively community where every resident feels empowered to enjoy life's moments! $22.23 - $26.77 per hour
