A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Description
Position Summary:
We aim to bring joy and fulfillment to active seniors through creativity and engagement. A critical role in a vibrant senior environment, our Activity Director- Certified Recreational Therapist gets to organize activities that enhance cognitive, social, and physical needs and ensure activity programs are appropriately presented by staff.
Posted Salary Range:
USD $20.00- USD $22.
Wage Commensuration:
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, and present a fresh and varied schedule of meaningful activities and events Prepare monthly newsletter and calendar for distribution to all residents and families Maintain records of all activities and resident participation Compile and create a biography for each patient/resident. Maintain proper activities inventory for budgetQualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; college specialization preferred 2+ years of experience in an Activity Assistant or Director position in psychiatric care preferred Activities Director Certification (Certified Recreational Therapist) required or willingness to obtain and maintain within 12 months of hire Passion and enthusiasm for working with the elderly Patience and sensitivity while working with others Reliable transportation requiredBenefits:
