Brentwood, Tennessee About the Community The Rivers at Maryland Farms is a premier senior living community offering Assisted Living and Memory Care services in a warm, engaging, and hospitality-focused environment. As we begin an exciting new chapter under the leadership of Greenbrier Senior Living, we are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and creative Director of Lifestyles to lead resident engagement and wellness programming across our community. We are committed to creating meaningful experiences for residents while fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture for our team members. What You Will Do The Director of Lifestyles is responsible for planning, promoting, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating programs that support the physical, spiritual, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of residents across all levels of care.
Responsibilities Include:
Develop and lead engaging lifestyle, wellness, and activity programs for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents Create and maintain monthly activity calendars and resident newsletters Plan community events, entertainment, educational programs, outings, and family engagement opportunities Supervise, schedule, coach, and evaluate lifestyle and wellness staff Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers while ensuring safe work practices Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and professional standards Develop, maintain, administer, and update departmental policies, procedures, and job descriptions Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates as needed Develop departmental budgets, forecasts, and staffing plans while ensuring responsible use of financial resources Coordinate safe, dependable transportation services and oversee maintenance of community vehicles Collaborate with department leaders to create an exceptional resident experience Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director Supervisory Responsibilities This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is expected to perform independently while exercising strong leadership, professionalism, and sound judgment. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; degree in Recreation Therapy, Music Therapy, Gerontology, Hospitality, or related field strongly preferred Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a similar industry Experience leading teams and managing programming strongly preferred Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Passion for creating engaging and meaningful resident experiences Ability to adapt programming to meet the needs of Assisted Living and Memory Care residents Board Certified Music Therapists are strongly encouraged to apply Must be flexible and available to work weekends, evenings, and early mornings as needed to support resident activities, special events, and community operations Physical Requirements On a daily basis and throughout the workday, candidates must be capable of: Sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and reaching Using fine motor skills and grasping with both hands Lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted Why You Should Apply Competitive salary: $65,000-$68,000 annually Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and more Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holiday Pay Flexible scheduling Excellent growth and advancement opportunities Supportive leadership team and collaborative culture Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of seniors every day Apply Today If you are a creative, compassionate, and driven leader looking to join a community focused on excellence in resident engagement and wellness, we encourage you to apply today at The Rivers at Maryland Farms.
