Job Summary The Greek Life and Activities Coordinator supports student engagement by developing and coordinating programs, activities, and services that enhance the collegiate experience. The role provides oversight of fraternity and sorority life, including leadership support, recruitment coordination, and compliance. It also leads major campus traditions such as Homecoming and collaborates with campus and community partners. This position contributes to a vibrant, inclusive environment that fosters student connection, leadership development, and retention.
Essential Duties Oversee and Advise Fraternity and Sorority Life
Serve as the primary advisor to fraternity and sorority governing councils, chapter executive boards, and membership
Provide guidance and support related to chapter operations, leadership development, organizational management, and risk mitigation
Coordinate and implement recruitment efforts that support all fraternity and sorority life, including alignment of timelines, marketing, and participation expectations
Collect, analyze, and report data related to recruitment, membership, retention, and engagement to inform strategic planning and program improvement
Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive training programs for chapter leadership, members, and new members, including risk management and leadership development
Ensure compliance with university policies, state mandated training requirements, and applicable regulations
Review and recommend improvements to fraternity and sorority life policies, procedures, and practices
Serve as a liaison between Student Life and national organizations, alumni, and campus partners
Plan and Coordinate Homecoming and Campus Traditions
Lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Homecoming as a week-long campus tradition
Recruit, interview, select, train, and supervise a Homecoming committee of student leaders
Coordinate a comprehensive schedule of Homecoming events designed to engage students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the community
Collaborate with campus departments, athletics, alumni relations, and community partners to ensure successful event execution
Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to promote participation and engagement
Assess program effectiveness through participation data, feedback, and post event evaluation
Support additional campus traditions and signature events as part of the Student Life programming model
Develop and Support Student Engagement Programming
Create and implement programs and activities that foster involvement, connection, and a sense of belonging among students
Partner with Student Life team members and campus departments to support and enhance department programs and initiatives
Encourage collaboration between fraternity and sorority life and other student organizations and campus partners
Assist in planning and execution of Student Life programs and events throughout the academic year
Attend and participate in department, division, and university events and initiatives
Promote inclusive and student-centered programming that aligns with institutional retention and engagement goals
Data Collection, Management, and Reporting
Manage and oversee data collection related to fraternity and sorority life, Homecoming, and student engagement programming
Track participation, recruitment, retention, and program outcomes to assess effectiveness and inform decision making
Prepare and present reports for departmental planning, assessment, and effectiveness initiatives
Manage budgets associated with Greek life programs, Homecoming, and assigned program areas
Track and reconcile expenses, prepare purchase requests, and monitor revenue and expenditures
Develop, implement, and evaluate action plans, programs, and initiatives based on assessment data
Oversee program area communications, including website content and digital resources
Personnel Management, Supervision, and Communication
Supervise student employees, including hiring, training, mentoring, work assignments, and performance evaluation
Provide leadership and oversight to the Homecoming student committee, including goal setting, accountability, and development
Communicate in a professional, service-oriented manner with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders
Foster collaborative relationships across campus and within the community
Draft internal communications, correspondence, and program materials
Utilize technology and communication tools to effectively engage with stakeholders
Establish expectations and provide ongoing feedback to student staff and volunteers
Serve as the initial approver for select employment timesheets

Strong organizational and project management skills, including coordination of large-scale programs such as campus traditions and Homecoming

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree
Valid Texas Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the University's insurance company
Must be able to work during evenings and on weekends periodically
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in College Student Personnel or Master's Student Affairs and Higher Education or related field
Student supervisory experience
One year of professional level experience in student programming, student development, or closely related programs
