Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to bring energy, creativity, and purpose to our senior living community. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and oversee engaging recreational programs that enhance residents' quality of life, foster social connections, and promote overall well-being. Responsibilities Develop and implement diverse activity programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and health needs, including memory care and dementia-friendly activities Coordinate resident events such as social gatherings, outings, educational workshops, and therapeutic activities that promote engagement and community involvement Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interactions and attentive communication to understand their preferences and needs Collaborate with care teams to integrate recreational therapy techniques into daily routines and support residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive health Manage scheduling for activities, ensuring timely preparation and smooth execution of all programs while maintaining accurate records of participation Communicate effectively with residents' families and team members to update on activity participation and gather feedback for continuous improvement Lead team efforts in creating a warm, inclusive environment that encourages resident participation and fosters a sense of belonging Skills Proven experience in event planning within senior living facilities or assisted living environments Strong background in assisted living, nursing home care, or geriatrics with an emphasis on Alzheimer's care and memory support Knowledge of recreational therapy principles and programming development tailored for seniors with diverse needs Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents of all ages and backgrounds Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and program planning purposes Demonstrated ability to build rapport with residents while maintaining professionalism and compassion Leadership skills to coordinate team efforts effectively while managing multiple activities simultaneously Familiarity with aging issues counseling, dementia care strategies, and working with individuals with disabilities or special needs Experience in working with geriatric patients in long-term care or home & community care settings is highly desirable Join us as an Activities Coordinator if you're passionate about enriching the lives of seniors through engaging programs that foster joy, independence, and community.
