The ideal candidates must be devoted and compassionate about their chosen career. The Director of Recreation will have experience working with individuals with dementia, have a highly enthusiastic personality, and be able to develop creative activities for our residents. This position works closely with the facility's residents to create a fun and happy environment for them!
Responsibilities Include :
Develops, maintains and coordinates a monthly program of events and programs. Establishes and maintains on-going contacts with community organizations, churches, colleges, universities, cultural organizations and other useful resources for program development. Recruits, plans and manages volunteer opportunities for the community Manages, trains and develops staff. Makes marketing presentations for community outreach efforts Works with marketing to assist in planning of community/resident events Coordinates community outings to special events, lectures, for an active resident lifestyle One-to-one activities utilizing interpersonal needs to meet resident/client needs Projects a positive image of the organization in dealing with residents/clients, co-workers and the public Paperwork and filing as needed
Qualifications:
At least years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years At least 1 year of experience in resident activities program in a health care setting Must be able to effectively communication with older adults in a manner that conveys warmth and professionalism Licensed or registered in Therapeutic Recreational services with a CTRS or ADC Certification preferred As a Glenburnie Rehab & Nursing employee, you will enjoy working in an environment that promotes professional growth and development that offers competitive wages and PTO.
