Summer Activity Camp Administrator (Montlake Community Center) Montlake Community Center•Seattle, WA 98112 Apply Overview Salary Range $30.00•$32.00 Hourly Level Entry Category Education Apply Description Summer Activity Camp Administrator (Montlake Community Center) The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, is hiring a summer Activity Camp Administrator at Montlake Community Center, to oversee the operation of the Summer Activity Camp for children aged 5-13 years old; working with Community Center staff to coordinate programs, attendance, manage registration forms, correspond with parents, training and supervising activity camp instructors, provide marketing and promotion of camps. ARC's Activity Camp Program provides a fun, creative, safe and welcoming environment for children to learn, play and grow.
Location Montlake Community Center Pay Range:
$30•32 hourly DOE/non-exempt; seasonal summer position only
Schedule:
Monday•Friday, 40 hours per week, with the following shift:
Monday:
7:45am to 4:30pm, 45 min lunch break
Tuesday-Friday:
8:30am to 5:15pm, 45 min lunch break
Hire By Date:
June 5 th , 2026 Program dates: June 17•August 25, 2026 (Summer camps run from 6/29•8/21) The schedule is subject to change based upon programming needs and requirements.
Summer Activity Camp Administrator responsibilities:
Leadership Leading/coaching instructors in program delivery through demonstration, observations, coaching and follow up Support instructor curriculum development/activity planning Camp director should be comfortable designing and delivering Activity Camp style curriculum Address behavior via positive reinforcement Providing leadership in emergency situations in accordance with guidance/policy Manage program operations by communicating effectively with staff and holding them accountable to job-related responsibilities Use critical thinking to problem-solve and plan to minimize risk Operational and Administrative Ensuring all safety protocols are being followed and enforced by staff and participants Managing and organizing paperwork and contact information for all participants Set-up, take down and cleaning of space daily Completing reporting procedures Supervising the lunch hour Being a substitute instructor when an instructor calls-out; and sub floater is unable to support. Supporting monitoring of camp budget Shopping for camp supplies and managing equipment Attend all required meetings and training sessions Proficiency with Windows based operating system and Microsoft Office Suite Supervision, Care & Custody Supervise the site program and a rotating weekly team of 2-8 activity camp instructors and 1-4 independent contractors Cultivate a safe and welcoming environment for all families, participants and staff Conduct regular head counts and roll calls Ensure environments are well-maintained, developmentally appropriate and supports the needs of the program and its participants Provide positive transitions that maintain ratios/head counts to minimize the risk of unwanted behaviors Relationship Building Collaborating with site Parks staff to meet camp goals Communicating professionally with parents, staff and partners via phone, in person and email Maintaining strong positive working relationship with various partners including, Seattle Parks and Independent Contractors Summer Activity Camp Administrator minimum qualification: Must be 21 years of age or older Must have at least 2+ years of experience working in child-related programs Must have demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships Additional Preferred Requirements Have prior supervisory and/or mentorship experience Preference given to candidates who can work the full camp season
