Job Description

Job Summary The Director of Activities plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for community older adults in our senior center. This position involves planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and emotional well-being. The Director of Activities will work closely with community participants to create a vibrant community atmosphere that caters to the diverse interests of the older adults in our community. Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program for our senior center. Plan and coordinate events, trips, exercise, classes to promote engagement with the older adults. Collaborate with community partners to bring engaging activites and programs to our senior center. Maintain accurate records of participation in activities. Supervise staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment. Foster relationships with local community organizations to enhance activity offerings and provide additional resources. Qualifications Experience in senior center settings is preferred. Background in event planning is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and older adults. Creative thinking skills to develop innovative programs that engage diverse populations. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A college degree preferred, but not required. Prior experiece working with older adults and volunteers preferred, along with excellent communication and organizational skills. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to improving the lives of seniors through meaningful activities.
