Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care across diverse hospital settings, utilizing your expertise in critical care, cardiac monitoring, and medical-surgical procedures. As a Travel RN, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare environments, gaining valuable experience while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Duties Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic conditions, including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and surgical cases. Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms using telemetry systems; respond promptly to abnormal findings. Administer medications, including IV infusions, injections, and Botulinum toxin treatments when applicable, following strict aseptic techniques. Perform detailed physical examinations, assessments, and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with diagnostic procedures like catheterizations, spinal taps, or laboratory specimen collection; ensure proper specimen processing. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and patient education for complex cases including hospice & palliative medicine or long-term care needs. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies while delivering patient-centered care in fast-paced environments such as ICU, trauma centers, or emergency rooms. Experience Proven critical care experience in settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; trauma medicine knowledge preferred. Experience working with telemetry equipment for cardiac monitoring; familiarity with ICD coding and EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is a plus. Background in medical-surgical nursing with additional skills in wound care (suturing), ostomy care, or ventilator management highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform advanced procedures including IV insertion, catheterization (urinary or vascular), and aseptic technique adherence. Prior travel nursing experience is preferred but not required; candidates should possess strong adaptability across various hospital environments. Knowledge of infectious disease protocols, infection control practices, and NCQA standards enhances your suitability for this role. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous for specialized units.
