Job Description
Join a dedicated birthing team providing exceptional, family-centered maternity care in a serene hospital environment. Provide individualized nursing care during labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn support in private suites. Educate families on childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care, promoting skin-to-skin contact and rooming-in. Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, collaborate with medical staff, and develop patient care plans based on assessments and patient input. Administer medications, perform procedures, and respond to changing patient conditions, ensuring safety and quality care. Supervise support staff, serve as charge nurse when needed, and support safety protocols and quality initiatives. Requirements include active RN license in Alaska, BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications, with PALS required within 6 months; prior labor & delivery experience preferred. Strong communication, critical thinking, and emergency management skills required; familiarity with EHR systems essential. Position involves physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and floats to the acute care department as needed.
