Gifted Healthcare is seeking a dedicated MedSurg RN for a travel or local contract in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, you will provide comprehensive medical-surgical care to adult inpatients, including assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care. You will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, educate patients and families, and document care using EMR systems. Responsibilities Provide direct Med Surg nursing care to adult patients in a hospital setting Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans and documentation Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies per provider orders Monitor patient status, interpret vital signs, and respond to changes in condition Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans Maintain accurate, timely charting in EMR systems Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards Float between units as needed to support staffing demands Communicate clearly with Gifted Healthcare team regarding schedules and assignments Required Skills Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment IV therapy and medication administration Telemetry monitoring Wound care Care planning and coordination Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Infection control practices Patient and family education Time management and prioritization
