Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Provides professional nursing care in Chemotherapy Department through assessment, treatment and education of patients in accordance with physician's treatment plans. Responsible for maintaining policy and procedures for infusion area and coordinating care. Ensures accurate and timely billing of supplies and medications.
Hours:
8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday Full Time with benefits
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
EXPERIENCE
One year experience administering chemotherapy and providing care to the oncology patient preferred. Minimum 3 years as Registered nurse.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS
Must be licensed to practice nursing in the state of Alabama, ONS certification or UAB chemotherapy/biotherapy certification preferred prior to employment or signature of this description (if already employed with the Cancer Center, within 3 months of signature), and BLS (prior to employment) and ACLS Certified within 3 months of employment or signature of this description (if already employed with the Cancer Center).

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge of appropriate patient population growth and development. Must possess strong communication skills, knowledge of professional standards of care, and elements of patient and family teaching.
