Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

Overview:

Acts as collaborative member of the clinic team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Assesses and provides appropriate intervention for the problems that patients and families experience related to their health care and treatment to include teaching, counseling and supporting as needed to assist provider, patient and family. Also acts as lead clinician in assistance to provider.

Qualifications:

Education Required Graduate of an Approved Nursing Program required. License, Certification and/or Registration Current Alabama or Multi-state Nursing Licensure. Experience Minimum of one year clinic experience in direct patient care setting. Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
