Gifted Healthcare seeks an Emergency Room RN for travel or local assignments in Birmingham, AL. In this fast-paced ER setting, you'll deliver high-quality, compassionate care through triage, assessments, medication administration, and critical interventions. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, ensure accurate documentation, and support patient and family education. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to emergency room patients, including triage, assessments, and interventions Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient response to treatment Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic medical records Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures at all times Adapt quickly to changing patient acuity in a fast-paced ER environment Support quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives Float between local or travel ER assignments as needed Required Skills Emergency nursing Triage assessment IV therapy and medication administration Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation ACLS protocols PALS or pediatric emergency care Ventilator and airway management Infection control and safety compliance Critical thinking and rapid decision-making
