Qualifications:

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama Prior experience working with school-aged children preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to adapt quickly to new settings and needs Comfort assessing common student health issues and delivering appropriate care CPR and basic life support certification required

Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to students and staff as needed, including administering medications, overseeing chronic condition management, and responding to minor injuries or illnesses Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines for school health Serve as the on-site nurse for school field trips, supervising student wellness and handling emergencies Fill in for regular nursing staff during absences and special events, maintaining continuity of care Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student health needs Enjoy the flexibility of an as-needed schedule and the satisfaction of helping young learners thrive.
