Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Contract Experience an impactful opportunity caring for surgical patients on a Med Surg unit in a well-supported clinical environment. This contract nursing role centers on providing dedicated care as part of an experienced team, delivering high-quality assessment, medication administration, and patient advocacy. Be a vital resource for post-surgical recovery and patient education during evening shifts on a busy surgical floor.
Schedule & Hours:
Night shifts 36 hours/week, 3x12-hour shifts Contract length: 13-16 weeks Every other weekend required Commitment to 3 designated holidays (combination of major/minor): 11/27, 11/28, 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, and 1/1
Qualifications:
Active and current AL or multistate compact RN license—no pending applications At least 2 years of recent nursing experience in Medical Surgical or Surgical unit settings Prior travel nursing experience is required Proficiency using Cerner EMR systems Ability to adapt to scheduling needs; blocked schedules cannot be accommodated Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver safe and effective nursing care to patients on a surgical Medical-Surgical unit Conduct comprehensive assessments, manage medications, and provide post-operative care and patient education Collaborate closely with physicians, ancillary staff, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Accurately document using Cerner EHR and adhere to established hospital protocols Respond flexibly to patient and unit needs, particularly during holiday shifts Working in this role provides a dynamic environment with exposure to varied cases and opportunities for professional growth.
