Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing. In this contract role, you will provide specialized patient care in Step Down Units and support both the Med-Surg and SDU floors during evening shifts.
Schedule/Hours:
7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, offering the opportunity to work overnight shifts
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Active Registered Nurse license in good standing Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, specifically in Step Down, Medical-Surgical, or Telemetry units Proven ability to float effectively between Med-Surg and SDU (Step Down Unit) as needed Solid experience with Cerner electronic health record system (EHR) Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills Capability to work well under pressure and deliver high-quality patient outcomes Current BLS and ACLS certifications preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-focused care in Step Down and Medical-Surgical settings Monitor, assess, and document patients' conditions, responding to changes in patient status promptly Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform telemetry monitoring Support colleagues by floating to designated floors and contributing as a collaborative team member Maintain accurate records using Cerner EHR systems Educate patients and families regarding the care process and discharge planning Ensure compliance with facility protocols, standards, and safety guidelines
