Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice On-Call | 7 On / 7
Off Nights Location:
Alabama Coverage Area:
Jefferson County, St. Clair County, Blount County, Cullman County, and Etowah County Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our hospice team in a 7 on / 7 off night schedule. This position plays a critical role in providing after-hours support to hospice patients and families, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care during evenings, nights, and weekends. Schedule 7 On / 7 Off Night Shift Alternate weekends with another 7 on / 7 off RN Full coverage responsibilities during scheduled workweek Key Responsibilities Respond to and triage after-hours patient and family calls. Perform scheduled and PRN (as-needed) patient visits. Complete hospice admissions as needed during assigned shifts. Assess patient needs and provide appropriate nursing interventions. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care. Accurately document patient care activities and clinical updates. Provide compassionate education and support to patients and caregivers. Qualifications Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama. Current CPR certification. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and manage patient needs in a home-based setting. Excellent communication and patient care skills.
