Category Nursing - RN-Psych Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in mental health care by providing compassionate nursing support to patients in an acute psychiatric setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for skilled Registered Nurses committed to fostering a safe, therapeutic environment and offering expert care to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
Schedule/Hours:
Full-time contract with variable shifts, including some weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
Active and unencumbered RN license. Minimum of one year of recent experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing. BLS certification required. Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with patients and families. Excellent assessment, documentation, and medication administration skills. Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct mental status assessments and monitor patients for behavioral changes. Administer medications and monitor therapeutic and side effects. Work closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans. Maintain accurate and timely patient records. Lead or support group therapy sessions as needed. Ensure a safe and supportive environment through diligent observation and intervention in crisis situations. Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medications, and available community resources.
