POSITION SUMMARY

- The WellHouse Clinic Nurse serves in The WellHouse Medical Clinic as the health and wellness touchpoint for residents, managing all resident medical records, and liaising between healthcare providers for specific medical services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Coordinates medical care for highly traumatized individuals who are survivors of human sex trafficking and experiencing physical, mental, and substance use health issues. Communicates effectively with psychiatric, general medicine, pharmacy, and other practitioners regarding resident appointments, medication management, and any other needs pertinent to their medical care. Draw and collect laboratory specimens as ordered by nurse practitioners and other authorized medical providers, ensuring proper specimen handling, labeling, and documentation. Coordinate with medical laboratories regarding specimen processing, pickup, and follow-up to ensure timely and accurate completion of lab services. Maintain accurate inventory of medical supplies and place orders as needed. Assist psychiatric NP and family NP with on-site medical clinics, including clinic preparation, resident coordination, vital signs, laboratory collection, documentation, and other clinical support as needed. Assesses new residents by gathering information, performing comprehensive medical assessments, and disseminating that information to the appropriate medical personnel. Develops complete plans of care to address and prioritize the medical needs of residents and revises these plans as needed. Educates patients about their care plan and health promoting activities Schedules appointments for doctors' visits and other medical services and updates the shared calendar to reflect these appointments. Triages clinical need/urgency for higher level of care Collaborates continuously with care providers about treatment plan to ensure the well-being of residents Performs point of care testing and administers over-the-counter medications as needed Updates patient medical records after each contact Communicates with and educates non-medical staff members about ongoing changes in medical condition and/or medications Provides monthly update and board reports to Senior Clinical Director on the progress of medical clinic. Performs any other job-related projects, activities or duties as requested by Senior Clinical Director. Regularly review pharmacy services, medication costs, and vendor pricing to identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining quality of care and continuity of services. Maintain current professional licensure, certifications, and malpractice insurance coverage as required by applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies and provide proof of coverage. Participate in ongoing continuing education and professional development activities to maintain competency and stay current on best practices, emerging research, and evidence-based interventions.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Participates in training, workshops and meetings held for all staff and/or as requested by Senior Clinical Director. 2. Ensures duties and responsibilities are carried out in a supportive and professional manner. 3. This position is a part-time, in-person, contractposition based on an average of 30 hours/week. 4. The organization's headquarters is in Odenville, AL. Candidates must be willing and able to be physically present on campus at least two days per week. 5. The WellHouse is a non-profit organization that identifies as a Christian ministry. Its religious character is reflected in its policies, work environment, practices, and staff as outlined in The WellHouse board approved faith position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1.

Licensed, Registered Nurse (RN) with the Alabama Board of Nursing. 2. Bachelor's degree in human services field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred. 3. Preference given to applicants who have at least 2 years of specialized experience in trauma informed services.
