Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-ER Job Type Contract Advance your nursing career in a high-acuity emergency department with a contract assignment running from July 20, 2026, through October 17, 2026. This role is ideal for experienced emergency or critical care RNs seeking a dynamic setting with a focus on Level II Trauma care. Work in a 71-bed ER known for its complexity and broad patient population, including multi-system trauma, STEMI, stroke, and critical pediatric and psychiatric patients.
Schedule:
Standard shift: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm Every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month (block scheduling considered) No on-call requirements Holiday scheduling: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy
Key Qualifications:
Active RN license Minimum 2 years' critical care experience (ICU, ER, or MS hold), with at least 1 year in a Level II ER (for experienced travelers) Experience with Cerner or Epic EMR systems strongly preferred
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and nationally recognized CPI/Secure Proficiency in trach and vent care, ICU drips, chest tubes, lines (art, CVL, PICC, midline, ports), splints/ortho devices, BiPAP/HiFlow, and bladder irrigation Comfortable with rapid patient turnover and high acuity
Responsibilities:
Deliver expert care for critically ill trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurologic, pediatric, and psychiatric patients Manage patient ratios of 1:4 in ER, 1:5 for med-surg holds, and 1:3 for ICU holds Utilize advanced equipment including Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication systems, and Spacelabs monitors Collaborate with supportive staff: CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, and hospitalists
