This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering safe, efficient patient care throughout the surgical experience while serving as a key member of the operating room team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional care in an outpatient surgical setting. Experience in ophthalmic surgery is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Serve as the circulating nurse during ophthalmic surgical procedures. Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment. Verify patient identity, procedure, surgical site, physician orders, and consents. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, scrub personnel, and other team members to ensure quality patient care. Assist with patient positioning, monitoring, and safety throughout surgical procedures. Maintain accurate documentation of perioperative care. Ensure compliance with infection control standards, ASC policies, and regulatory requirements. Monitor equipment and supplies and assist with inventory management as needed. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. BLS and ACLS certification required. Minimum of 1 year of operating room nursing experience required. Ophthalmic surgery experience strongly preferred. Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) preferred. Knowledge of aseptic technique and perioperative nursing standards. Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Compensation Compensation is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.
