Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-ER Job Type Contract Step into a vital role within a 71-bed, high-acuity Emergency Department that functions as a Level I Trauma center, handling a diverse patient population. Be at the forefront of acute care for multi-system trauma, STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, GI, GU, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and psychiatric patients from 7/20/26 to 10/17/26.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour day shifts: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Rotating weekends; every other or minimum four weekend days per block schedule No on-call requirements One major and one minor holiday per policy (holiday scheduling not guaranteed)
Qualifications:
Active RN license with at least two years of recent critical care experience in ER (Level II Trauma or higher); ICU and MS hold experience strongly preferred Cerner or
EPIC EMR
experience required First-time travelers welcomed if meeting experience criteria Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, Secure/CPI (nationally recognized/JACHO accepted),
NIHSS Essential Skills:
Trach and vent care ICU drip management, chest tube and arterial line experience CVL, PICC, midline, and port management Orthopedic device/splint application Foley insertion, continuous bladder irrigation Experience with bipap/hiflow O2 therapy
Responsibilities:
Manage 1:4 ER patient ratios, 1:5 for MS holds, and 1:3 for ICU holds Utilize Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitoring equipment Collaborate with a dedicated team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy (up to 3 a.m.), IV/VAT team, hospitalists, and receptionists Complete comprehensive onboarding: 24 hours classroom, 24 hours on-unit orientation
