Category Nursing - RN-Operating Room Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room. This contract position is ideal for professionals skilled in perioperative care and passionate about supporting patients through surgery. Key Responsibilities:
Circulate and/or scrub for a variety of surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic technique and patient safety at all times. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists. Monitor patient status throughout procedures, anticipating and responding to surgical team needs. Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment before, during, and after procedures. Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record promptly and accurately. Advocate for patients, ensuring comfort and privacy during their perioperative experience. Participate in ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives within the surgical department.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active, unencumbered RN license. Minimum of one year experience in an operating room as a circulating and/or scrub nurse. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications. Knowledge of surgical procedures for various specialties. Strong critical thinking and communication skills in high-pressure environments. Meticulous attention to infection control and safety protocols.
