Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-ER Job Type Contract Embark on a dynamic nursing opportunity within a high-acuity Emergency Room, serving a 71-bed unit that operates at Level II Trauma standards while functionally providing Level I care. This contract position runs from July 20, 2026, to October 17, 2026, and welcomes both experienced travelers and first-time travel nurses ready for a challenging, rewarding environment.
Schedule:
12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Weekend rotation every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month (if on block schedule) No on-call requirements Holiday coverage includes one major and one minor holiday per policy
Role Qualifications:
Active RN license with at least 2 years' recent emergency or critical care experience Experience in Level II Trauma or higher required for new travelers; most recent year in Level II ER for travelers Proficiency with Cerner (preferred) or
EPIC EMR
systems
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and nationally recognized Secure/CPI (JACHO accepted)
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver expert care to patients across multisystem trauma (Level II), STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, GI, GU, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and psychiatric emergencies Manage advanced skills: trach and vent care, ICU drips, art lines, CVLs, PICCs, ports, foleys, ortho device application and care, BiPAP/high-flow, and continuous bladder irrigation Maintain appropriate patient ratios: 1:4 ER, 1:5 MS Holds, 1:3 ICU Holds Collaborate effectively with unit support—charge nurse, CNAs (1:12 ratio), phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, hospitalist, and HUC Utilize advanced hospital equipment, including Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors
