In this vital role, you will provide compassionate care to individuals undergoing detoxification from substances, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process. Your expertise will support patients through challenging withdrawal symptoms, utilizing your extensive nursing skills and knowledge of medical procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' recovery journeys while working in a fast-paced, supportive environment committed to excellence in patient care. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and mental status evaluations to determine appropriate detox protocols. Administer medications such as IV infusions, medications for acute pain management, and other prescribed treatments with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Monitor patients closely for signs of withdrawal or adverse reactions, adjusting care plans accordingly to ensure safety and comfort. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient care accurately and maintain detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians specializing in addiction medicine, behavioral health specialists, and case managers to develop individualized treatment plans. Provide patient education on detox procedures, medication administration, and post-detox care strategies to promote long-term recovery. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and maintain sterile environments during procedures such as suturing or specimen collection. Experience Proven nursing experience in critical care settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, or trauma centers is highly desirable. Demonstrated expertise in managing acute pain and performing complex procedures like IV insertion, catheterization, and tube feeding. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management. Knowledge of substance withdrawal protocols and familiarity with Workers' Compensation law related to injury management is advantageous. Experience working within hospital medicine or urgent care environments that require rapid assessment and intervention skills. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology essential for accurate patient assessment and intervention.
