Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Detox Nurse / Withdrawal Management Nurse or Detox Technician to join our growing recovery center. This position provides nursing support to individuals undergoing detoxification and withdrawal management while working closely with medical providers, behavioral health professionals, counselors, and recovery support staff. Key Responsibilities Complete nursing assessments and monitor clients throughout detoxification. Monitor vital signs and signs/symptoms of alcohol, opioid, benzodiazepine, stimulant, and other substance withdrawal. Utilize approved withdrawal assessment tools, such as CIWA-Ar and COWS, when appropriate. Administer medications according to provider orders and scope of practice. Identify medical or behavioral health concerns requiring provider notification or a higher level of care. Maintain accurate medication administration and clinical documentation. Respond appropriately to medical and behavioral health emergencies. Educate clients regarding withdrawal, medications, recovery, and continued treatment. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team. Assist clients with transitioning from detox into residential treatment, IOP, outpatient treatment, sober living, or other recovery services. Qualifications Current Arizona nursing license. Current CPR/BLS certification. Current Fingerprint Clearance Card. Experience in detox, substance use treatment, behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, emergency care, or residential treatment preferred. Knowledge of substance withdrawal and medication management. Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and crisis-management skills. Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders is a plus. Experience with withdrawal management, CIWA-Ar/COWS protocols, medication-assisted treatment, trauma-informed care, and substance use disorder treatment is highly preferred.
