We are seeking a highly motivated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our inpatient Pulmonary and Critical Care Team. This role is vital in delivering advanced patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to critically ill patients within the intensive care units (medical, cardiac, and neurologic) and patients with pulmonary disease within the hospital wards. The nurse practitioner will work closely with a large group of dynamic attending physicians, nursing staff, respiratory therapist to develop and coordinate a plan of care to meet the needs of the patient and their families. We are currently seeking a candidate for our Downtown Phoenix Clinical Sites.Key Responsibilities:
Critical Care Admissions, Critical care and pulmonary consults with floor follow ups and Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) rounding. Performs history and physical examinations, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and provides education to patients and their families. Document clinical encounters clearly, precisely and in a timely manner. Coordinates the care of patients to provide safe, effective, efficient, and timely patient centered care. Liaises between visiting nurses, clinical staff and consult services. Care plans and execution of those plans should encompass the entire service to tie the service together. Consults with physicians or surgeons regarding the care of patients for more complex diagnosis. Provides interventions including, but not limited to, tracheostomy changes, arterial line placement, central line placement (internal jugular or femoral lines), intubations, chest tube placement and removal, paracentesis, and thoracentesis Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Proactive rounding within the critical units includingMICU, SICU
TICU and Neuro ICU Participate in emergency interventions and resuscitation efforts. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff. Stay current with best practices, research, and advancements in critical care medicine.Qualifications:
Education:
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited program.Licensure:
Active Acute Care Nurse Practitioner license in Arizona Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center or National Certification Center in area of specialty or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners or the American Certification of Critical Care Nurses (AACN)Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification Experience:
Experiences as a critical care, ICU, or emergency setting as a RN is desired. New grads who are motivated and eager to learn critical care medicine by outstanding clinical educators are welcome to apply.Certifications:
