1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of ICU experience and AZ or compact RN licensure. Details Acute care setting within a 12-bed Intensive Care Unit at a Level 3 trauma facility Typical patient ratio of 1:2 12-hour night shifts from 1800-0630 Modified self-scheduling with block scheduling available Minimum of 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule required May float to ED or Med-Surg if experienced in those areas Uses Allscripts EMR Common cases include Left Heart Caths, Coronary Interventions, STEMIs, IVUS, IFR/FFR, Temporary Pacemaker Insertion, and IABP Insertion Additional common conditions treated include pneumonia, post-cath care, EVAR, ARDS, DKA, CVA post-tPA, afib RVR, sepsis, and renal failure Utilizes GE floor-mounted C-Arm and Table, Volcano System, Change Healthcare Cardiology Hemo System, and Getinge IABP Respiratory Therapist available on unit 24/7 Support staff includes Patient Care Technician and Health Unit Secretary House Supervisor (Administrative Shift Coordinator) available in-house 24/7 No on-call requirements Requirements Active AZ or Compact RN license required Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Experience with basic ICU equipment required BSN not required for this position Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to complex ICU patients including cardiac, respiratory, and post-procedural cases Manage common drips such as Amiodorone, Cardizem, Levophed, Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Vecuronium, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Insulin, and Heparin Typically 1-2 ventilated patients on the unit at any time Scrubs of any color are permitted Orientation is 8 hours and occurs every Monday No open heart or neuro surgery cases, and no fresh transplant patients on this unit Cancellation policy allows up to 3 cancellations per 13-week assignment
