Job Description

REGISTERED NURSE QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
Must possess a valid California license for RN practice BCLS certified Complete a fingerprint clearance Complete a health screen/TB clearance Proficient in English both in written and oral Complete at least eight hours of orientation DSP training
Desired Qualifications:
At least one- year experience within the last 5 years of caring with persons with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of the Community Care Licensing regulations and ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Duty Statement:
Apply scientific knowledge and skills in providing nursing care to clientclients. Collaborates with the RN Consultant to ensure the client's nursing care plan (NCP) is effectively implemented. The RN will complete competency training with the RN Consultant and together with the Nurse Consultant will provide competency training to LVN's/LPT's The RN will review all medication documentation and recordings for compliance with the regulatory requirements and standard of practice at least every two weeks. Such review will include documentation in the unit client record with specific documentation of all non-compliances found and the corrective action taken. Shall report to Community Care Licensing Division, within the departments next working day and to ACRC and DDS, within 24 hours upon the occurrence of any of the following events: 1) The death of any client from any cause. 2) The use of automated external defibrillator. 3) Any injury to any client that requires medical treatment. 4) Any unusual incident that threatens the physical or emotional health or safety of any client 5) Any suspected physical or psychological abuse of any client 6) Epidemic outbreaks 7) Poisonings. 8) Catastrophes. 9) Fire or explosions that occur in or on the premises. The RN shall notify the attending physician immediately of any sudden/ marked or significant changes in signs, symptoms or behavior exhibited by the client. The RN shall have the authority to make judgment of recommendations, plans for implementation and continuing assessment through dated and signed reports which shall be retained by the administrator for follow-up action. The RN shall assist staff in performing direct care to the client. The RN shall be able to work designated shift as Days, PM, and Nights
