Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to inform individualized care plans. Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform catheterizations following strict safety protocols and medical documentation standards. Manage complex cases involving dementia care, Alzheimer's disease, memory care, and behavioral health challenges with sensitivity and professionalism. Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document patient interactions accurately and efficiently. Provide specialized care for patients requiring ventilator management, tube feeding, wound suturing, or sterile procedures using aseptic techniques. Assist with diagnostic evaluations including specimen collection/processing and medical imaging coordination. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers to deliver urgent and emergency medicine. Support discharge planning, case management, and patient education to promote recovery at home or in long-term care facilities. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of all medical records and patient information. Participate in infection control practices and adhere to long-term care regulations to uphold safety standards across all environments. Experience Valid licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with current state certification. Demonstrated experience working in diverse clinical settings such as hospitals (including
ICU, ER, OR
), skilled nursing facilities, hospice care, or outpatient clinics. Critical care experience preferred; including ICU or trauma center exposure with Level I or Level II trauma center backgrounds. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth is essential for accurate documentation. Hands-on experience with IV infusion therapy, medication administration, phlebotomy, and venipuncture techniques. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and familiarity with long-term care regulations is highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities—and providing dementia or Alzheimer's-specific care is a plus. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy knowledge, pain management strategies—including acute pain management—and infection control protocols. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care clinics while maintaining compassionate patient interactions. Prior experience in home & community care settings or travel nursing assignments is advantageous for versatile adaptability.
