Job Description
MLK Community Hospital seeks a compassionate RN Clinical Staff nurse for our 3rd floor Med/Surg/Tele unit. In this part-time role, you'll provide evidence-based, patient-centered care to a diverse, underserved population, performing assessments, administering medications, and monitoring telemetry. You'll coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and support safe discharges. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care on a Med/Surg/Tele unit to a diverse adult patient population Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuously monitor telemetry Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and accurately Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans based on patient needs Document all care, assessments, and outcomes in the EHR in a timely, accurate manner Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and discharge instructions Participate in quality, safety, and infection-prevention initiatives on the unit Support safe discharges and care transitions for patients returning to the community Uphold MLK Community Hospital's mission of equity, compassion, and high-quality care for underserved communities Required Skills Telemetry monitoring Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment Care planning Medication administration IV therapy Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Wound care Patient and family education Interdisciplinary collaboration
