Job Description
MLK Community Hospital seeks a compassionate RN Clinical Staff nurse for our Med/Surg/Tele unit. The RN delivers evidence-based care to adult patients with diverse medical conditions, including telemetry monitoring. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, care planning, medication administration, wound and post operative care, and patient/family education. You'll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, support safe discharges, and uphold quality, safety, and equity standards while serving a historically underserved community in a modern, mission driven hospital. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to adult Med/Surg/Tele patients in an acute care setting Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring, including telemetry Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and accurately Document care and patient responses in the electronic health record Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care Support quality, safety, and infection-prevention standards Participate in rapid responses and emergencies as needed Contribute to a mission-driven, equitable care environment for underserved patients Required Skills Acute care nursing Medical-surgical nursing Telemetry monitoring Patient assessment Care planning & coordination Medication administration Electronic health records (EHR) IV therapy & phlebotomy Wound care Patient & family education
