Summary/Objective:

The consulting Lead Medical Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for overseeing health services as well as coordinating the provision of timely, appropriate health services for children in care. They supervisor other medical coordinators and provide appropriate staff training on medical, dental, and public health topics related to pediatric, adolescent, and migrant health. They are responsible for developing and maintaining policies and procedures in following agency policies and procedures to ensure confidential health record management, triage of health care concerns, medical emergency response, environmental health and safety, and post release health care planning and care coordination.

Essential Functions:

Provides health management, effective communication, and leadership in the execution and direction of quality medical services to minors, and when applicable staff. Creates strategies and action plans for the prevention of infectious disease outbreaks. Oversees and assists the program in implementing any recommendations given by the Public Health Departments, CDC, and

ORR DHUC.

Coordinates and supervises medical staff and is responsible for evaluation of their medical performance and skills. Facilitates and/or coordinates meetings, training, and presentations for professional development of the medical staff and other staff as needed. Provides quality assurance for the department to include the following (not limited to): Oral, written, and statistical reports, presentations, and auditing of electronic medical records Maintain professionalism, confidentiality (including HIPAA), and ethical standards enforced by David & Margaret. Is available to consult with staff on medical concerns or issues and as necessary follow up with the assigned doctor.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position supervises the medical component of the program.

Work Environment:

This consulting position operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment. While performing consultant duties, the consultant is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The consultant frequently is required to walk. The consultant is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The consultant must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a consultant/contractor position of approximately 10 hours a week (hybrid and in office to be determined) and will include being able to respond to after-hour calls for consultation.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited Nursing Program. Must have passed the RN exam and obtained licensure from State Board of Nursing. Minimum of 1 year of employment in public health or a healthcare setting with demonstrated experience in care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical care. Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English; bi-lingual in Spanish preferred. Must have a valid California driver's license and good driving record. Possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certificates. Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and ORR suitability background check Must be at least 21 years of age. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Pay:

$60.00 - $70.00 per hour
